WHAT IS MARKETING?


MARKETING is the activity, a processes for creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging offering that have value for customers, clients, partners and society at large.

IMPORTANCE OF MARKETING

  • Marketing is very helpful in exchange or movement of goods.

  • Marketing actually helps in raising and maintaining the standard of living of the community.

  • Marketing creates employment in economy.

  • Marketing generate huge revenue for companies.

  • Marketing create space for innovation.


If we compare marketing with advertising from perception of marketing then it seem like advertising and marketing are two concept that share exactly the same objective of altering consumers to products and services being sold.


COMPARISON BETWEEN MARKETING AND ADVERTISING



  1. Marketing is a process that involves design, creation, research and data mining about how to best align the idea of product or services with the target audience.

  2. Advertising is a literal process of making a product and service known to audience. It is a description used to present the product, idea or service to the world.

  3. An advertising is promotion of product, brand or service to a viewership in order to attract interest, engagement and sales.

  4. Advertising must be timely and used in specifically strategic way.

  5. Advertising comes in many forms, from a hardcopy to interactive video to application on mobile phone.


We hope we are good with basics of marketing and advertising here, but the most important part here is perception Yes, the perception of our customer about everything.

  • Customer perception refers to the customer’s opinion about your business or products or services.

  • It tell us how customer feel about your brand including every direct or indirect experience they have had with your company.

  • By monitoring customer perception your business can spot common user pain points and improve the customer journey.

We live in a world where the customer’s perception of both our brand and quality of service could take precedence over traditional competitive advantages like pricing, features or usability. If companies are not currently investing in improving their customer’s perception and experience then they might at risk of falling behind.

1. Lean on positive language


The positive emotions have power to open us up, in simple words positive emotions change our perspective and our understanding of possibility. Positive language not just bring better understanding to customer but also indirectly motivates customers to try the services of company.


2. Commit to consistency


Companies should be very much consistent about their core operating values like customer respect, integrity, ethical practices etc. This commitment to consistency is very helpful in laying the firm foundation of goodwill of company.


3. Collect customer feedback


It is impossible for a company to grow without the feedback of customer about their product and services. Customer feedback can be obtained in many ways like:

  • Questionnaire

  • Interview

  • Or just a casual conversation.


4. Follow up with customer with every interaction


Following up with your customer is very important, it seems as small investment that rewards a major payout. Follow up message present the opportunity to enhance the customer’s experience.


CUSTOMER PERCEPTION OF MARKETING IN TERMS OF SALE.


Many people have this myth that sales is marketing but even the perception of marketing is different from that of sales in reality.

Sales and marketing are two business functions within organisation . They both impact lead generation and revenue.

The term, sales, refers to all activities that lead to the selling of goods and services whereas marketing is the process of getting people interested in the goods and services being sold.

Marketing encompasses all activities that helps spark interest in your business.
